The End of War, The Beginning of Peace
Day 9
Chapters 75 - The End
ACOWAR Buddy Read Finale
We made it. Through bloodshed and betrayal, through shattered spells and broken hearts—we’ve reached the end. And what an ending it was. If you’re still emotionally upright after this, I salute you.
Death, Sacrifice, and the Shattering
Nesta finishes what Elain started, twisting the blade until the King of Hybern is decapitated. Feyre is whipped back into her body, only to face Amren.
Amren lied. The spell wasn’t to neutralize the Cauldron. It was to unbind herself. Varian begs her not to do it. But Amren leaps into the Cauldron anyway.
She is free but unbinding her shatters the Cauldron. The Hybern army is obliterated. And Amren is gone.
The war is won. But the Cauldron’s destruction leaves a void threatening to consume Prythian. Feyre and Rhys remake it together, altering the spell that she used to free Amren.
The Cauldron is whole.
Rhys is dead.
And I am sobbing.
Resurrection and Rebirth
The High Lords gather. One by one, they offer their power to revive Rhys. Beron’s casual flick of magic? Unintentionally hilarious. Still petty in a miracle.
Feyre, High Lady of the Night Court, adds her own kernel of power. Only Tamlin remains. I honestly thought for a minute that he wasn’t going to offer it up.
“Be happy, Feyre,” he says. and gives the final piece. He better had. I think it would have been trouble for the book in my hands if he didn’t.
Rhys returns.
“If we’re all here, either things went very, very wrong… or very right.”
And Amren? She’s back too. Reborn as High Fae. No wings. No ancient fire. But alive.
Cheers all around. For survival. For second chances. For the quiet magic of choosing love, even after war.
Burial, Rebuilding, and Velaris
The sisters return to their father’s body for a funeral. Quiet. Reverent. Heartbreaking.
Feyre asks Drakon and Miryam to hide the Cauldron on Cretea. It must vanish before power-hungry hands reach for it again.
A meeting is called at the Archeron estate. Tamlin and Lucien are distant. The wounds between them still raw.
But this is the beginning of a new world. One without walls. Feyre, Miryam, and Drakon speak to the gathered courts. Many oppose rebuilding the wall.
And then—Velaris.
We are home.
Final Thoughts: The End and The Beginning
We did it. We clawed our way through war, heartbreak, and impossible choices, and emerged blinking into the light of Velaris. This finale didn’t just close a chapter; it cracked open something deeper. A reckoning. A rebirth.
Nesta’s blade. Amren’s leap. Rhys’s death. Feyre’s choice. Tamlin’s flicker of grace.
Every moment was a gut punch wrapped in glittering prose. And yet, somehow, we’re still standing. Still feeling. Still here.
This ending didn’t tie things up with a bow. It left threads frayed, hearts raw, and futures uncertain. But it also gave us hope. That grief can be honored. That love can be chosen again. That even the most broken magic can be remade.
So here’s to:
• The sisters who fought, fractured, and found each other again
• The sacrifices that shattered us and the rebirths that stitched us back together
• The quiet moments in Velaris where peace feels possible
And most of all to you, my book besties who felt every beat, cast every poll, and made this journey unforgettable.
• What moment from the finale will stay with you forever?
• Did Amren’s sacrifice feel earned—or was her return too easy?
• What do you hope for Nesta, Elain, and Feyre in the future?
Thank You for Reading With Me
This buddy read was more than just chapters and polls—it was catharsis, connection, and community. Whether you cried over Cassian, cheered for Elain, or cursed Beron’s attitude, you were part of something magical.
Until I see you at the start of ACOFAS and/or ACOSF, stay dramatic, stay kind, and never underestimate the quiet girl with the blade.
