High Lady

What are your predictions for the upcoming battle with Hybern?

The Winter Court, under the leadership of Kallias, has joined the ranks. Azriel, while on the mend from his injuries, will be grounded for the upcoming battle. Meanwhile, Mor and Feyre have mended their friendship. And then, the moment I've been eagerly waiting for: the revelation of Mor's relationship with Cassian and Azriel. She made it clear – they are no more than family to her, as she prefers the company of females. Fey like her, often ostracized, have found a sanctuary at Rita’s.

In an albeit sad, but touching revelation, we finally learn more about Mor’s past. During the war, Mor took her first female lover, a mortal queen named Andromache. Sadly, their happiness was short-lived as their duties pulled them apart. Andromache went on to have five children with her husband. Interestingly, we met one of her descendants in ACOMAF, the one they call the Golden Queen.

The war council revealed Hybern’s cunning plan to weaken their forces before launching an all-out attack on the human lands. Faced with a tough decision, everyone agreed to confront Hybern head-on in battle. Adriata was designated as a safe haven, and efforts were made to winnow as many humans there as possible. Thanks to crucial information from the Suriel, Amren finally broke the spell, requiring the involvement of all four Made fae. Exhausted from winnowing, Feyre, recalling the Suriel’s parting words, quietly set off to retrieve the Ouroboros Mirror. This daring move aimed to recruit the Bone Carver and tilt the odds in their favor for the final showdown with Hybern. While we don’t know the details of Feyre’s interaction with the mirror, it seems she succeeded, as the next scene shifts to Feyre at The Prison, conversing with the Bone Carver. He agrees to honor their deal but reveals he never actually needed the mirror; he simply needed to see if Feyre was worthy.

Upon reaching the mortal lands, they discover Hybern’s forces had already left a path of destruction, including the Archeron estate, which bore signs of a personal vendetta. The Archeron sisters readied themselves for battle: Feyre and Nesta in Illyrian fighting leathers, and Elain in Winter Court attire. Cassian’s offer of his dagger was declined by Elain, but Azriel’s offer of Truth Teller was accepted, a gesture that astonished everyone, as he had never offered it to anyone before.

A question that I noticed I keep asking myself concerning this triangle between Azriel, Elain and Lucien are: Is it possible for two male fae to be mated to one female and she has to choose which male is her mate?

As they prepare for battle, Feyre notices that neither the Autumn nor Spring Courts has yet to arrive.

The battle has begun, and as Hybern’s magical shield fell, Feyre dropped her glamour to reveal Bryaxis, a writhing cloud of darkness, and the Bone Carver, appearing as a prime Illyrian soldier. Rhysand had a surprise too – Stryga, the Weaver of the Wood, freed from her containment by a deal brokered by Helion on Rhysand’s behalf.

Two things: 1. Can I take a moment to crush on Feyre’s new tattoo? 2. Am I the only one excited for the carnage to begin?

The good guys’ forces didn’t disappoint, and the battle cries filled the air. With the battle raging on, Amren grew impatient, urging the four of them to make their way to the cauldron. A horn sounded, and on the horizon, the banners of the Autumn Court, the Spring Court, and the Greyson Family appeared, signaling the arrival of reinforcements.

The humans are led by Jurian, Autumn court begrudgingly led by Beron, who was forced to join the fray by Tamlin. Speaking of Tamlin, it appears that he was able to regroup the forces that Feyre turned against him at the beginning of our journey. I wonder how they feel about her now.

Jurian

As The Weaver plowed through the enemy army, clearing them a path, the four females made their way through the battlefield in search of the cauldron.

During their search Nesta suddenly fell ill. Her telltale sign that the King is mustering the power of the cauldron. (Why is Nesta the only one who gets sick?) Nesta screamed for Cassian, and when he was close to reaching her, a blindingly white light erupted from the cauldron and reduced many of the Illyrian fighters still in the sky to ash…The Bone Carver included. The Weavers’ screams of grief and anger were world shattering.
